Kids these days
When we came home this evening, our male goat was acting a bit unusual, much needier than normal. As I started walking from the gate to the house, I heard a faint, high-pitched bleat coming from the barn. I did my best goat imitation, and soon got another high-pitched response. I ran over to the barn, and sure enough, our nanny goat Mabel was the mother of two of the cutest little baby goats!
It was quite obvious that she'd just given birth within the past hour or two. Considering how small pygmy goats are, the kids are surprisingly large. Ouch.
Our billy goat Fredric could not be prouder. He kept tugging at my pants leg as if to say, "See! I did that! I'm the daddy!"
I'll take pictures when I have the chance. It was much too dark inside the barn and I didn't want to frighten them with the flash.
