Fair and balanced?

Ah, crap.  News Corp (which owns Fox) is making a play for Dow Jones & Company.  Not only does DJ publish a number of important stock indexes (most notably, the Dow Jones Industrial Average), but they also own the Wall Street Journal, Barron's and MarketWatch, three of the top financial news sources.

I see this ending badly for small investors.

This reminds me of when The National Post bought The Financial Post in 1998, and of the fact that Canada's main stock indexes have not been run by a Canadian company since 2002.

It comes from this idea that right-wing information is the only type appropriate for investors, and from the idea that it doesn't really matter where financial data is compiled. And it's all a load. :-P

Still, small investors have managed to work through it...

Um I don't know much about stocks and that stuff, too much unknown and risk for me in them. I just have a muteral fund less risk. I just put some money in a really nice CD the other day. It cought my eye because it had a 5.37% fixed rate for 9 months, I couldn't beat that anywhere else!
