Maybe it's Schrödinger's cat?

I found this box in a cabinet.  I have no idea what is inside it.  The box is white on all sides with just the numbers you see there for identification.  The flaps are glued shut so you can't open the box without tearing it open.  There's something rattling around inside.

It's hard to tell from your pic but patent # 2000752 was issued in May 1935 Graybill for a rodent trap, the document states the base is 5.6" long and 3" wide would something like that fit in that box?

You could have it X-rayed to try and find out what is in it with out opening it. Your local university may do it for you if you give them a cool story.

Very curious indeed =)

It could be a Epson Wire Harness for a DFX8000 printer. Or it could be a body part left over from an unsolved murder case.

Or maybe it's chocolate. Chocolate's good!

Whatever it was, you probably didn't need it. :-)
