Guess it wasn't food poisoning afterall

Tuesday, shortly after eating at Burger King, I started feeling queasy, then I began vomiting and suffering from 12 hours of liquid diarrhea.  Sounds like food poisoning, no?  Wednesday, though, the intestinal symptoms went away and I developed a high fever (103°F), extreme chills, headache, sinus pain and pressure and muscle aches.  Classic symptoms of the flu.

I'm feeling much better today.  Slight headache, some sinus pain.

But now my SO and our roommate are exhibiting the same symptoms I had initially, vomiting and diarrhea.  Obviously it's not food poisoning.  I guess we've got the swine flu.

If this is the best the swine flu can throw at me, I think it's being waaaaay overhyped.

Even that's a lot more intense than what I've heard from most swine flu patients except the very young and the very old.

A friend of mine in the UK IM'd me one day and said "lol i got swine flu". I thought he was joking, but no, it was legit and checked at the hospital. I asked him if it was bad, he said "nah i've had worse".

Wow, influenza in August. This is a strange bug. I hope you all feel better soon!

yup, I got it earlier this year, around may. Not a big deal really. I mean, I felt bad, of course, but, seriously, not too worse from other ones.

I get all that with food poisoning. Just no sore throat or runny nose like you get with a regular flu.

But then, food poisoning isn't contagious.

I just got over the tail end of HysteriaFlu (tm) this morning, ample doses of Dayquil, orange juice and rest pretty much knock it down in about 24 hours.
