Dirty dogs and hacked hackberries

You never know where they'll be hiding....

I guess this explains how they're getting so dirty all the time.  And I just gave them a bath a couple days ago after they came into the house caked in mud.

Looks like this hackberry butterfly has gotten lucky more than once.  I guess those eye spots really do help distract predators.

Is it hot over there? That would explain the dogs hiding under the house.

It wasn't that particularly hot, maybe in the low 80's (27-28°C). Both dogs are black, so they heat up pretty fast in the sun, but one of our sheep and one of our goats are also black and they were out grazing so it couldn't have been too bad. And the dogs were only out a few minutes before they disappeared.
