I resisted watching My Little Pony for so long, but I finally decided to watch an episode of it just to see what all the fuss was. The episode I saw wasn't a very good one for a first time viewer, being the very last episode of the season. But I gave it another chance and managed to catch the pilot the next day. I was hooked.
So I figured I'd get an MLP toy for my desk at work. I picked up a Rainbow Dash figure at Walmart. Then I bought a Pinkie Pie. Then Applejack. Next thing I knew, I had the whole herd. I don't have Spike, however. It appears you can only buy him as part of a set, and the prices being asked for on eBay just for Spike are almost as much as one of those sets.
Why are ALL the Princess Celestia toys Pepto-Bismol pink? And why do half the characters come with weird pets? Pinkie Pie came with a mouse, not her pet alligator Gummy, and Rarity came with a blue chicken thing, not her cat Opalescence. I don't think Rainbow Dash has ever been shown with a pet, much less a squirrel.

I quickly got my SO hooked on the show, now he's thinking about getting the toys (except he says they look like they are balding with really bad comb-overs). Our other roommate just chuckled when I mentioned how good the cartoon is, so I set his DVR to record the show. I caught him watching it last night. Yes, come over to the brony side. We have cupcakes!

While watching free episodes on HUB in Verizon's VOD my son strolls through and does a double-take. Seems he's been into this a while on 4chan and other places.

Still yet to get any of the toys myself but its just a matter of time.
Hehe, my room-mate, another fur gave me a lot of flack when he caught that I had an episode recorded on the computer. Then I caught him watching episodes, then it was asking when the next one was on.
