Squirrel spies

As I was sitting on the porch, breaking up alfalfa, I noticed a squirrel sitting in the tree outside watching me. I managed to grab my camera and snap a single picture. I guess he's too shy and doesn't like having his picture taken, because he took off.




(This isn't the same squirrel as the one who posed for the camera previously)

I thought the fisher scared off all the squirrels around here, but there are still a few flitting around. One of my favorite critters to watch at play, and the most abundant around the library (lots down there still).

This is actually the first squirrel around here that I've managed to photograph. They're usually very shy. The squirrel I'd posted pictures of before was in town, at someone's squirrel feeder. There's little point in setting up a feeder here since the fields around us are full of corn.

We seem to have a LOT more rabbits than squirrels.
