I mailed off a check to the IRS on Friday the 8th. It was cashed Tuesday the 12th. 4 days. Wow.

They cashed that check so fast, I'm surprised it didn't catch fire!

That's the advantage of the new "e-cheques" ... because they get converted into electronic transactions the minute they come out of the envelope, they clear almost immediately. The disadvantage is that if they get garbled along the way, the nice paper cheque you used to have as backup isn't there.

Just had the same thing happen to me ... I sent in my paperwork for my car registration to the DMV on the 13th, and I got the sticker in the post on the 16th. Zounds! What happened to the bad ol' slow DMV? :)
