Actually, the X50v with the original OS, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, was REALLY great. Never had the slightest bit of trouble with it, and it was one of the best PDAs I've ever owned. The problem has to do with the fact that WM5 is about as different from WM03 as Windows 2000 was from NT 4.0, and I've got the very first release of the OS.
The only reason I haven't downgraded back to WM03 is because I REALLY like the ROM storage feature of WM5, and the fact that there's supposed to be a patch in about a week.
At least Dell has acknowledged there is a problem and is going to issue an update, unlike a certain other computer company. *coughTOSHIBAcough* Dell should have done more testing, though, and waited until ActiveSink 4 was RTM.
