I'm not going to be reposting my tweets to LJ anymore.  I figure if people want to read my Twitter posts, they can follow me on Twitter.

Twitter is a lot easier to post to than LJ.  The Twitter app for Android is simplicity itself; one tap of the widget and I can type my message, hit another button to post and that's it.  There is no official LiveJournal app for Android, the unofficial ones that exist aren't very good, so the only other option is the mobile website, which is slow and clumsy.

I also went through and deleted my past Twitter reposts.  They were cluttering up my journal.  I left posts that had replies, though.

I'll still be posting to Twitter, probably more often than LJ, I'm just not going to repost the tweets here anymore.

LiveJournal's Twitter repost service seems to have broken.  It hasn't done anything since the 25th.

Looks like LJ's Twitter reposting function is finally working.  Too bad there doesn't appear to be a way to automatically set them to use my FailHomer icon.

  • Tea growers in Assam are noticing changes in the flavor of their tea and a reduction in production levels due to climate change.
  • Home-made Guittard chocolate chip cookies, hot out of the oven!
  • Guittard makes for better cookies than Ghirardelli; both are way better than Nestlé or Hershey.
  • The secret to making great cookies is to buy some professional aluminum 1/4 sheet pans from a restaurant supply. They're cheap and durable.

Check your TV cables and replace any marked RG-59 with RG-6. It'll help improve your reception.

  • My reading is slow going not because I'm a slow reader, but because I have too many newspapers/magazines/blogs/etc to read before the books.
  • Damn, I haven't even started reading today's newspaper.
  • I read the newspaper on my Kindle. An archaic method of distributing news, on a cutting edge piece of technology.
  • Fortunately the early in the week Mercury News are usually fairly small, and the Kindle version strips out most of the ads and crap.
  • Too bad the Kindle version also omits the comics. Otherwise it would be perfect.

  • Average American's memory span, less than 2 years.
  • Amazing how many Americans believe the recession, which started in 2007, was Obama's fault.
  • Obviously Obama went back in time to 2 years before he was elected so he could sabotage the world financial system.
  • Republicans really care about the middle class.

  • What the heck is all this stuff in the farmer's field? Too granular for ash, too gray for sand.
  • Whatever that pile of gray stuff was in the field, the farmers are spreading it around now.
  • There's an enormous cloud of dust outside right now. Whatever that stuff is they're spreading in the field, it's floating over here.

  • Battery in my SO's Kindle 1 is dead. It's all puffy and swollen, like it's about to explode. How do I dispose of a live grenade?
  • Buy a new battery for my SO's Kindle 1 ($15), or buy myself the new Kindle 3 ($190) and give him my Kindle 2?
  • Kindle 3 (3G version) plus lighted cover on order.

  • Amazon's web site seems to be slightly broken right now. Not down, just some things are missing or not working right.
  • Kindle 3 has arrived. Much darker print, pages turn much faster. Slightly smaller, lighter. Book light built into cover.
  • Can't use the K3's 3G radio here. My K2 and K1 used Sprint, which works here. Fortunately the K3 has WiFi also.
  • The K3's navigation buttons will take a bit getting used to, but I think I like it better than the K2's joystick.
  • I get a 14 day free trial subscription to the Amazon Daily blog. After that it costs $0.00 per month. @_@
  • I haven't used the Kindle 1 in forever. It's soooooo slow compared to the 2 and down right glacial next to the 3.

If I check the Repost to Twitter box, will that create an infinite feedback loop?

  • Thought I was buying the sheep a mineral block. Turned out it's some kind of treat block. Sheep are tearing it apart like ravenous wolves.
  • Results after about 15 minutes worth of nomming. This block cost $9. It'll probably be gone in a week or two. http://twitpic.com/2m8dt1
