Dear God it's freaking cold outside!  It got down to -15.5ºF (that's -26.4ºC) this morning!  Fortunately it appears to be warming up nicely, now it's a balmy -9.2ºF (-22.9ºC).

This is what normally follows a winter storm on the plains. We get the effect here too. Snow ended here around sunset yesterday. The temperature was 26°F. The thermometer began dropping almost immediately, and the humidity dropped as well, even as the barometer was rising. At dawn this morning it was 8° F. and tonight's projected low is in the subzero range.

Usually the length and intensity of the dry cold that follows a wet storm is pretty much proportional to the intensity and duration of the storm that preceded.

Welcome to the mid-continent, California boy. ;D
