The day after your ladybug article our shrubs were buzzing with the little orange pests. You'd think the winds would blow them off and away, but it only seems to blow in more. They do hover at the doorways, and they do swarm in when the door opens up :o( They click around the fluorescent light in the kitchen at night, along with the moths that float in when I bring in the dogs.
Flies have been minimal, thankfully. 87? Sounds like a scene from The Amityville Horror.
