Stopped into Wal*Mart today and bought a bicycle. It looked really nice, and it probably would have been a great bike... for someone a lot shorter and lighter than me. The handlebars couldn't be adjusted, forcing me to hunch over to ride. And bikes with suspension systems really aren't a good thing for someone of my weight. (And it felt really weird to ride) So I ended up taking it back. For some reason, they gave me my money back in cash, rather than putting it back on my debit card. They really didn't have anything else I was interested in.

I did get a couple of other items on my disaster preparedness list, though. A couple more of those wind-up flashlights and a first aid kit. I also picked up another box of .30-06 ammo, and a full set of dummy rounds so I can practice working the bolt without worrying about putting holes in the wall.

And about 3 years later, I FINALLY got around to upgrading the RAM in my laptop. Got a full Gigabyte now. Yay!

That's the only thing I don't like about my bike. The fact that the handlebars can't be adjusted, and the seat it came with is too small. The seat will be rectified, and I'm going to get my hands on some handlebar extenders so I'm not hunching down to ride. But I love the suspension, I can feel the shock of bumps and things in the wheel, instead of my arms.

I got a Mongoose XR-200, which is black and silver. You eventually get used to the suspension, and in some cases, you can adjust the rear suspension to be a little stiffer or looser depending on your needs, but after you ride with it for a while, it grows on you. Plus, my bike is much lighter than any bike I've ever had, which means that most of my pedalling is put into moving my weight instead of trying to overcome might weight added to that of the bike.

Yeah, this was one of those Mongooses. Mongoose? Mongeese? Mongi?

Anywho, it was a Mongoose EFX, the step down from the XR-200 (which they were out of).

I'm sorry to inform you that you're still very far behind. I am, and I have 1 1/2 Gb in mine...
