Lightning!

Holy crap! Huge bolt of lightning right in front of me! I could actually see the bolt itself. Normally thunderstorms happen off in the mountains several miles away, so we only see the flash and never the bolt.

And the thunder! Holy crap! Loud enough to wake the dead.

Very VERY strong electrical smell in the air.

It's started raining, the first rain my gauge has ever detected. A momentary power drop rebooted the weather station's web interface (crappy UPS!), but the hardware has its own batteries, so it's still recording everything.

I had a bolt go off not more than 10 blocks from my house. It made everything in the house pop (noise) including my laptop. I quickly unplugged it

We hadda very beautiful show here for an hour or so. Loud enough to shake things now and then but mostly muffled in the distance. We went up on the stairs to watch it for a bit...strikes in the south, to the west, but the majority of them were hitting north. Huge arcs that would wrap around themselves and go all up into the clouds with some occasionaly striking groundward.

At one point we had a brown out, so we dropped offline from EQ2 and shut down the puters.

It rained a bit here, not much. Though it's very humid right now.
