I was becoming quite annoyed with the speed, or rather lack thereof, of this new Windows Mobile 2005.It was an absolute dog, taking a couple seconds just to scroll one page in the Programs menu. I was begining to wonder if I had make a mistake, and was thinking about downgrading. Then I remembered an old tweak. Edit the registry on the PDA, changing the value of HKLM\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE from 8192 to 32768. This increases the amount of memory used by the Glyph cache, but since WM2005 only uses the RAM for software and not for storage, I have TONS of RAM available. Now it's nice and crispy, like it was with the original OS. Yay for secret obscure registry entries.

Is this that new bedroom you mentioned the other day you have ?:) the picture said packrat_bedroom.jpg and was found when I typed the word packrat into a yahoo image search :) I was looking for rl packrats to see what they really look like.

oh yea and this video game too :) it reminded me of that first Mario brothers game on Nintendo nes :) i wonder if that's a real game or something some person just drew for fun and made it up :)?

But it's not really pron. Ps i hope you don't get mad at me for showing this one here. you sometimes have adult stuff on your LJ so i thought maybe I'd show the packrat girl one i just saw.

anyways when I saw that picture the yahoo image search page found that said packrat bedroom it made me remember the other day you said something about your old bedroom in your LJ and stuff.

So anyway, how do you edit the pda's registry? Is there a regedit function in WM2k5?

Unfortunately, Microsoft has never included a registry editor in any version of Windows CE.

Fortunately though, there are a number of third party editors. I use PHM Registry Editor. It looks like their web site is down (http://www.phm.lu/), but there are other places to download it (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pocketpc/phmregistry.html). It's freeware.
