Changing tastes

When I was a kid, I used to hate taking cough medicine. I'd have a big glass of juice or soda on hand so that as soon as I took the medicine, I could gulp down something to wash away the horrid taste.

But I've noticed it doesn't faze me anymore. I can take a dose of cough medicine, and it doesn't bother me. The flavor still isn't pleasant, but it's no longer so horrible I want to gag.

Have medicines gotten better, or have my taste buds changed?

For me I love it because I know its going to make my throat stop hurting.
