Changing tastes

When I was a kid, I used to hate taking cough medicine. I'd have a big glass of juice or soda on hand so that as soon as I took the medicine, I could gulp down something to wash away the horrid taste.

But I've noticed it doesn't faze me anymore. I can take a dose of cough medicine, and it doesn't bother me. The flavor still isn't pleasant, but it's no longer so horrible I want to gag.

Have medicines gotten better, or have my taste buds changed?

Do you remember that flaming moe episode on the simpsons? they had some kind of cough syrup for it's mane ingredient i think it was hehe. but the way they described it it sounded like a yummy drink :) hehe. i remember a cough drop i was given as a kid called vicks 44d. i liked the taste too but i wonder do they still make those? cause i never see it now when I'm at a store. i think i saw the cherry vicks ones once a while back but not the 44d in a drop form. it was a sorta black cough drop with the letter 44d on it i think. but i haven't seen one since almost 1970 I'm guessing. i can't describe the taste it's been so long but maybe theres other stuff that taste like it out there somewhere :) Ps there was a drug called Butisol too when i was little i liked the taste i wonder if theres anything else that uses the same flavoring we can get :)? maybe candy or something that's not a drug hehe. it was a green liquid for a mild temporary sleep air i think it was called. i remember when i was little benadryl was prescription only but now you can get it anywhere. Only I think non prescription benadryl is only half strength as the prescription kinds are now DR's write those kind of prescriptions for and stuff.
