I left the battery on a trickle charge all night, and when I went out this morning, the car hadn't burst into flames or melted down or anything.  I unhooked the charger, turned the key in the ignition, and it fired up instantly.  Yay!

Just to make sure the battery was totally charged up, I went for a nice long drive, all the way down to Lincoln, then up to Omaha and back home, about 100 miles round trip.  There didn't appear to be any problems, other than having to re-pair my hands-free kit with my phone and reprogramming all the settings on the radio.

The battery didn't appear to have suffered any damage, but only time will tell.

Hey

If this is the first time you have totally discharged your battery it should not make a difference in life span.
So where is middle of freaking no where NE?
So you drove 100 miles just to recharge your battery?sounds like a lot of gas I could use LOL espacilly if you got a 350ci in that Chevy Caprice.

I'm almost smack in the middle between Omaha, Lincoln and Nebraska City. It's about 3-1/2 miles to the nearest paved road, and there's soybeans, corn and alfalfa as far as the eye can see.
