The "lawn" here isn't like most folk's; instead of a solid homogeneous mass of grass, it's more of a random jumble of grass, crab grass, clover, wildflowers and assorted weeds.  It's green, from a distance, but up close it can be both ugly and beautiful at the same time.

Right now, there are all kinds of flowers popping up.  Plenty of dandelions, but lots of other pretty flowers as well.  I've already posted pictures of the Speedwell, so here's a couple other flowers that are appearing all over the lawn.

I believe this is Shepherd's Purse.  These flowers are really tiny, only millimeters across.

I'm pretty sure this is a member of the genus Viola, but I'm not entirely certain of the species.  I think it's Prairie Violet.

Sounds like my yard. It's green from a distance, but filled with all sorts of different grasses, weeds, flowers, etc. I have some yellow tulips near my house and a lone red one right in the middle of the front yard. Prickly rose bushes are in one corner. My back yard has a rather large patch of small purple flowers that don't grow very high.. It's the yard I got when I bought my house last year. If all the flowers were in one place, it might me nice. Since they are so scattered, many will end up being food for the lawnmower, which I need to get out of the basement in the next week!

Now if I can only stop people from walking by and tossing beer bottles, pop cans, food wrappers and cigarette butts in my yard. It makes my already jumbled mess of a yard look worse.
