Looking for the name of a TV show

I recall seeing an educational TV series when I was a teenager, it was done like a TV news program airing on some historical date, the middle ages, the reformation, etc.  There were sports, business and opinion segments, and even "commercials", all appropriate to the time period for that episode.  The show would always end with the anchor saying something like "And that's the way it was, October 12, 1492."

Anyone else remember this show?  And what the name was?

Might it have been one of the versions of You Are There? There was a revival in the 70s, and Walter Cronkite hosted the 50s and 70s versions.

No, that's not it.

The series I'm thinking of was done as if the news broadcast were taking place on a specific historical date. For instance, for one from the middle ages, the "news studio" would have monks with parchments in the background, the set would be lit with torches, the anchor and reporters would wear period clothing, there would be commercials for such exotic products as pepper, and all the news reports and segments would be in the present tense (with no mention of later events) as if it were an actual news broadcast from that date. (For instance, an episode from 1492 might mention Columbus landing at San Salvador, but make no mention of "America" since that term wouldn't be coined until 15 years later.)
