Woke up at about 11:00 pm with a stomachache and nausea. Went digging around for the bottle of activated charcoal capsules, but couldn't find them. Guess I was out. (Activated charcoal absorbs toxins and bad stuphs, so I always take some when my stomach bothers me.)

Laid in bed feeling miserable for an hour, then decided I might as well go to the local 24 hour Rite Aid and pick up something.

Bought the pills ($13 for a bottle of 100, feh!), and took a handful in the car. I started to drive home, but I barely got halfway across the parking lot before I got hit with a wave of nausea. I quickly parked next to a planter and sat with the door open, in the rain, trying not to throw up the pills I just took. After a while, my nausea dropped off until I figured I wasn't in immediate danger of barfing all over the place, so I drove home.

I have to get up to go to work in about 5 hours. I can't take anything to help me sleep, as the activated charcoal would just absorb it. I can't call in sick tomorrow, because a programmer is going to be in to take a look at our database to see if he can make his web apps work with it.

I don't know what could have caused this. Breakfast was half a loaf of bread and some cream cheese. Lunch was the other half of the loaf of bread and a Cup Noodle. Dinner was rice made with a can of Progresso chicken soup. I'm wondering if it could have been the latter; maybe there was a reason they were 10 for $10. :(

Hmm, i didn't know they sell the charcoal pills, i'll probably get some for myself. I used activated charcoal when i was making some hard alcohol from my peach tree. Once i had steamed off the spirits i soaked the liquid on charcoal and then ran it through a few coffe filters with charcoal in em. Wanted to make sure i didn't poisen myself.
*snugs* Hope you're feeling better in the morning.

You have to be careful with activated charcoal if you take any kind of prescription medication (or even vitamins and such), because it'll absorb the good along with the bad.

In general, for the cause of food poisoning you should look at what you ate 12 to 24 hours earlier. It takes a while for those bugs to multiply in your gut unless whatever it was had already become really loaded with 'em.

Canned soups and such are extremely unlikely sources. Things that have been in the refrigerator for a while or sitting out on a table are much more likely.

You might have flu, it's around now. I hope not, and that you feel better soon.

The night before I had frozen pizza. For lunch I had an instant seafood bowl noodle, and breakfast was rice left over from the night before (kept in the fridge)

Well, I'd suspect the cream cheese from breakfast, or the frozen pizza.

Of course I'd also expect to be sick myself if I ate like that. Naughty, Ratty. You're certainly old enough to eat better.
