Updating one of the Ubuntu machines at work from Warty Warthog to Hoary Hedgehog (I love their version names!). The whole update will be 512 Megs! Holy Crap!

Even the full, everything including the kitchen sink Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers is only half that.

Warty Warthog was the previous version of Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/), one of the friendliest versions of Linux. The current version is called "Hoary Hedgehog", and the next version will be "Breezy Badger"

You can download (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/download/) it for free, if you have a fast connection, or you can request a free CD (http://shipit.ubuntulinux.org/). If you order the CD, it comes with a special "Live" disk that allows you to try Ubuntu without actually installing it.

It's a very nice operating system, nearly as easy to use as Windows, and it comes with lots of software, like Firefox, Evolution E-mail (which looks a lot like Outlook), and Open Office. The biggest thing it has going for it is that it's free. Anyone who is still running Windows 9X should order the CD and give it a try.
