Talked to the doctor today. Seems that the hospital's original diagnosis, pneumonia, was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. About as far off as you can get while still remaining inside the same patient.

Let's recap the symptoms: Abdominal cramps, nausea, distention, tenderness in the lower right quadrant, and elevated WBC count.

Dr. Packrat diagnosed appendicitis. Hospital diagnosed pneumonia.

Turns out I was closest. Her Primary Care Physician indicated it was either colitis or diverticulitis. THAT fits the symptoms a heck of a lot better than pneumonia.

This does not say much for the quality of care at the local hospital...

Come now, it's in everyone's best interests if you just admit to your pregnancy.

one time my nephew went to the er and they sent him home and said he was fine, but after they got home and latter in the middle of the night my sister had to call an ambulance to take them to the hospital and they said he got there just in time cause his appendix was just about to burst. but it ended up ok and they took out his appendix and soon he was able to go home again. but he was in a lot of pain so they should have ran a few test and kept him when he was there the first time. that was back in the 1980s i think and the hospital is bigger now they have built more buildings on to it and i think they have better dr's there now too.
